Beautiful Provence

Today we rode the high speed train, in first class, from Paris to Aix...I know we are soo special! It was a pretty fun ride, except for he fact that we were both so exhausted we couldn't keep our eyes open. I did however, see the first and last hour of the trip which was beautiful farm land and an cool bridge. I wasn't able to take any pictures because as soon as I saw the neat scenary it was gone. That's what happens when you travel at roughly 250 mph!

We picked up a car at the train station in Aix. That was quite interesting. It took us about 10 minutes to figure out how to get the car in reverse, I was thinking this could turn into one ugly trip real quick, but Adam was amazing and caught on quickly with not only how to drive this foreign car, but also how to manuever through the treacherous roundabouts, and how to pay tolls on the speedway. I'm so glad we decided to get a GPS for the car, it made finding our way to Gordes so much easier.

Gordes was an awesome experience. We arrived in town about 11:00 and the city market was going on. We bought some art from a local watercolor painter that drew the lavendar and poppy fields, and Adam found a new love for a tampanade and vege wrap!

Torrow we are going to Saint Remy's market where I hope to buy a traditional Provence tablecloth, lavendar soap, and maybe a cool straw bag! We also drove out to the Senanque Abbey to see the lavendar in bloom, unfortunately it wasn't out in full force yet, but we could still see the beginnings of the purple fields. :( July is peak Lavendar bloom time.

While driving some of the back roads of Provence we stumbled upon a bee keepers shop. When I think of Provence this man's house and shop are what I invision. Beautiful! Love the blue shutters and flowers!

That's it for today!! It's only day 5 of 21 and I already want to move here!
